Fishing float made from a tennis ball. Saw some guys using them on a pier in Oceanside, CA several years ago. Made one and used it here in North Texas. Plan to try it out in saltwater once I get to the coast. "Tennis Ball Fishing Float"

There is a product called " the Launcher " avaiable at Academy. It is a big lead wieghted float that you can can a mile. check it out. There is also a " lemon rig " that uses a lemon juice bottle. This works for jetty fishing with live bait. You can rig it to fish 12 feet deep ( or more if you have a long rod) and still be able to cast it. google it

We use golf balls. A few eye screws and swivels. They don't hang up as much as lead weights.

http://www.flexcoat.com/launcher.htmlAbove is the real deal! They get used at the Lake Livingston dam quite a lot to put baits right in the sweet spot.

agree texcajun - Used the Launcher this morning to hook-up on small Stripers at Denison Dam's tailrace. Fished from the bank when the morning bite was on. Click-on link for details. Launcher worked great for adding distance to a cast and doubled as a popping cork/attractor to get the schoolies to bite (just like fishing for specks).

Been awhile but did get some practice casting a new Surf Casting Rod using the Tennis Ball Fishing Float... Fun stuff! Today's Video. Good to know the float can do double duty as a practice casting weight!

Mo that lemon bottle trick is da bomb for Big Trout... Do you use it off jetties and how deep do you fish it? Mullet or shrimp?
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.

Started with a multi-fishing fly rig under a Launcher Float, then replaced it with a sinker, tghen switched to the Tennis Ball Fishing Float. Only one fish but did have some good results with distance using the float! Fun stuff! Link.
