I brewed an imperial stout yesterday. Pitched the yeast at 7PM and she was churning out the blowoff tube at 2 AM. Took a peak into my fermentation chest and the blow off tube had jumped out of the bucket and the chest was 2" deep in krausen.
Wow, this is a voilent fermentation. Glad I had it contained.
OG 1.090 We'll see what she ferments down to. Oh and starless, I've got 86 IBU in there. A bit soft for you. LOL
Mmmmm....Sounds delicious already! Sounds like a pretty good OG, too. As for the 86 IBUs...Much as I really love my super hopped beers, and IBUs over 100 in my Double IPAs...
In an Imperial Stout? That should be awesome. Just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness without overpowering it.
