Could anyone recommend underwater fishing lights for fresh water? I have done some reading and found lots of information on what you should look for in these lights. Anyone particular in a specific light running off a 12volt system in muddy water? Thanks for any information.

Take a look @ www.grangergang.com. There is a link on the left hand side for LED lights. Top notch and high quality without draining your battery. thumb

Ok, this is probably totally dumb, but has anyone done any testing with flashing lights? Or maybe lights that change colors? Just wondering...Maybe I could start a little crappie Rave with some techno music in the background. grin

I use a $20 light from Academy that has a 12" green flourescent light on top of a white incandescent flood light. White light shines down toward the bottom and incandescent shines out 360 degrees horizontally. Works very well but draws almost 2 Amps due to the incandescent. No problem if you have a fully charged marine battery. I have no idea what brand it is. Don;t forget to buy an 8 ounce weight to sink it.

Thanks guys really appreciate all the advice. I think I will be checking out Academy once I get off work. Reading reviews and statements from "customers" online has really been sending me mixed signals on what I should do. I have been told to check the intensity/lumens/color/run time and various other things. I have heard the lights from academy is junk but I have also heard success stories as well. Lights like the "green monster" are starting out at nearly 200 bucks. Ouch, that has come a long way from a car headlight glued to some styro that I used years ago. Who knows, the next time I play on fishing will be the 7th which is a fool moon. Really hoping I will have some luck with catfish and some crappie on lake woodlands.

Thanks again guys will drop a line how things went
