Fished the morning away in the SHADE of the 334 bridge while everyone else suffered in the 106 degree heat.
Not all of us are so lucky to be able to fish in the shade. That same day that Ernest and company were "suffering" in the shade, my two clients and myself were standing ALL DAY in the sun.....catching fish. Yeah, the heat was bad, but the fishing was great. Of all the crappie that we caught, only about 20 were shorts, but the rest of them (two limits) were really good fish. All fish came off brush, as we didn't fish any docks. Fish were caught in 12' - 20' of water, on just about any color, but the Rocky Top Stingers were the hot bait.
Oh and BTW, Ernest did manage to get out of the 74 degree AC long enough to come down to the dock to 'watch' me fillet the fish, after which "I" drove home while he ate, drank, dozed, and generally relaxed after a hard morning in the shade
