I rarely use doughbait. If I'm not using a hard bait that's appropriate for a hair rig ( Such as maize or boilies ) I almost always use sweet corn.

Once in a while I use doughbait, when it's all they are interested in. I like to make it out of Wheaties cereal.

Though, cottonseed meal makes for excellent doughtbait as well, flavored with vanilla or cinnamon among other things.

use 4 hamburger buns "some" cotton seed mill and about 2 fingers full of peanut butter, but i first dunk the buns quickly into the water, squeeze the rest of the water out of them,(i always use the lake water) mash em up really good in a bucket or whatever you got, then add the peanut butter and mix it in really well, and then the cotton seed mill, i use enough cotton seed to give it a consistent brown color, but you got to make sure you knead the buns in the first stage really well bc if you dont whatever didnt get smashed up good enough will swell when it hits the water, worked really good before the weather got blazing hot, but then again alot of other things did too

Bread, Water, Corn Meal, Flour.

After that basic mix, add your flavoring and/or Cottonseed Meal(CSM). Use CSM if you are chumming with Range Cubes.

Add Flour to bind your bait; Add Corn Meal to give your bait "Staying Power" in the water.

Flavors can be anything from Sweetcorn juice to Koool Aid, Jell-O, or Kitchen Spices. If you want to step it up, you can use McCornick flavors or order Carp-Specific flavors from your favorite online Carp or Bait dealer.

If you have a recipe, use it as a guide- Do not consider the amounts to be etched in stone. Add CSM, Corn Meal, or Flour to get the consistency you prefer.

Good Luck, Be Creative, Have Fun.

The doughbait I've been using for many years (with great success) is...

Cornmeal and flour (about 6 to 1), enough water to almost stick it together, real vanilla extract, enough oil (corn or canola) to blend it into a smooth dough.

I take cotton balls with me. Tear off a small bit of cotton and work it into the dough. It helps the bait stay on the hook longer. I've had real good luck with it.

Cheers,
