Thinking about giving this Carp thing a try, and have a couple of questions. Will my Catfishing Rigs work? (Ugly Sticks With a Garcias) I Manly fish Eagle Mountain and Grapvine, are there any good places to start on these lakes? Can't wait to catch some, just don't have the know how!

yeah your gear and your lakes are great starting places, back your drags way down compared to what you use for catfishing, get some smaller hooks or small circle hooks and set up a running rig and bait your hook with some sweet corn and toss several handfuls of corn in the area you are fishing

Rod holders are also highly recommended. Good luck.

You catfishing gear will work fine. I use Abu 6500C3 when I fish from the boat. Set your drag loose and when using the running rig just push in the cast button and turn on the bait clicker to allow it to freespool, this way you don't have to play with the drag, or use a holder. Use the sweetcorn with size 6 hooks and you will catch both the catfish and carp.
