ok today me and Marty (sunfish fly)found a coupla ponds worth taking a look at. the place is moore road park. there are 2 ponds. one of e'm, the smaller one, is FULL of gar, i've never heard of this. its 2 acres and gar are everywhere. the other is the one I'm talkin about for carp. Its about 15 acres and walking the banks today within 5 minutes crossing the spillway I ran into a 30-40lb blue catfish resting in the shallows. as came around the neglected ladscape on the far side, I saw some movement and a few big black fish in the shallows- BUFFALO.
there were a bunch of big commons and those 20lb+ buffalo. so...

go check it out fer yourselves thumb

Is this the same place?
"Moore Park, a city facility at the intersection of Eighth Street and Rockefeller Boulevard, is next to the DART station at Eighth and Corinth streets."

Yall talking about the 3 lakes near Kid Country playground and all of those baseball fields? I live 3 minutes from there and never caught anything worth mentioning.

There are decent fish in all three of the ponds. They can be hard to find this time of year because of the heat. I usually throw out some range cubes to try to bring them to me.
