Guy's been thinking about this for a while.

How about a yearly competition for carp and Buffalo in Texas.

Winner takes all minus expenses for a Trophy etc.

What do you think?

I think it would encourage people to search for new waters and look for bigger fish.

I'd say $50 per pot

I'd try to get other prizes for runner ups.

Competition will run October through March, giving us the best shot of a lunker.

Separate pot for carp, and buffalo I assume? Otherwise it'll definitely go to a buff. Richard suggested $50, Paul suggested $100...could make it $50 for carp, and $50 for buff.

The ATC would also fall in this time frame, so it could be a very large payout.

I like this idea. It'd definitely get me to explore a bigger area than I have so far. And I should definitely be working again by that time.

How will you verify the weights? Sounds like there might be a significant amount of money involved.

Length, Girth and accurate scales. "will be checked against certified scales if not certified"
Tip of nose to tip of tail, underneath fish. photo required.

Any dispute will result in Polygraph test.
Witness needed.

This sounds great richard.....great idea to get that pioneering spirit awake...I would be in for both pots just make sure the rules are lock tight

Rules will have to very tight!
Lenth, Girth will require photo!
Scales will need to be checked!
Full instructions will be given to ensure scales are zeroed and fish are weighed correctly.
No 10 lb matts added to the weight of fish.

Richard, call me, I am 2/3 the way through getting something almost exactly like this set up at my site, if you want to, you can use my site for it (or whatever).

I'll give some front page space for it as well.

Great idea. Maybe my life will settle down a bit and I'll be able to get out and fish. This could definitely have a huge payout.

I don't have the time to invest in something like this. If it was a 1 weekend type deal I'd be down. Sounds like A great idea though.

Also, there is no reason *not* to do it for a complete calendar year.

my scales arnt certified and they only go up to 50# are thies exeptable or no?

That hasn't been decided. They will not work for a fish over 50 lbs, obviously.

Which basically means you can compete on the Carp pot with those scales, but Richard or Bret will probably want to test them against certified scales.

But if you wanna compete in the Buff pot...gonna need a bigger scale lol.

We're going to hold the deadline off until the last possible minute to make sure we get as many folks as possible.

Sept 30 is likely.

Fish must be caught after money is paid, so we will have to have a deadline, otherwise guys would only enter after they have caught a large fish.
