While at work yesterday, me and a coworker of mine, Craig, decided to hit Hubbard for the late afternoon bite. So, we left the office a little after 4:30 (which is in Irving) got to my house, changed clothes, dropped the graph bag and rods in the boat, drove to the ramp, loaded the boat, and headed south. By then it was 5:40. We picked up a few fish down by the future hybrid spot, where we cam across The Yellow Tahoe. Wad up Rubee. Made a phone call to an anonymous angler, and we discussed the spots we were fishing. His spot sounded better than ours, so we picked up and headed to the point where Bob built his park. Fish were schooling in three or four spots and balls of shad could be seen scimming the surface. But, one thing that I did notice were the carp all over the lake. Thought it might have been boats hitting them, but there are a ton of them all over. Oh well, ended the day at 8:00 and boated more fish than you could shake a stick at, whatever that means laugh

Here are some graph pics for your viewing pleasure. If your graph doesn't look like this, you need to move wink

Nitro,
Are those shots downloaded from your card to your PC? My 522 is still pretty new to me and am still trying to get used to it. Haven't seen a screen shot that nice on it yet. Maybe this weekend will be the time. Glad you got them good!

JSIG, yes those screenshots are from sonar recordings I made from my unit to the unit mounted SD card. It takes a little work to transfer and edit, but it's well worth it thumb

Keep giving out detailed information like that and you'll have a boat show around you everytime you go out. You should really consider limiting the info you tell others on a open forum.... cyclop

Nice screen shots! fish

As in pulse speed , colorline, sensitivity, transperancy, etc etc. Any help would be appreciated

NICE!! Man, Nitro that looks just like my FF here in Tucson. Well like it would look like if there was any water in this area. LOL eek

Talking with my customer today and he is a fisherman. Says the nearest lake is 75 miles and covered up on the weekends. Says he has to take off during the week to go fishing and if he catches something bigger than 3 pounds it is a HUGE fish.

Thank god we live somewhere we choose between lakes to fish after work.

Will probably make it next week sometime on ole RH. Hope the hybrids are biting.

Bruce

I don't want to hijack the post so I'll give you a answer in a PM.
Summer is a great time to get some settings for your set up.

You wont get the exact pic that Nitro has. He is using the sonar viewer that you can download from lowrance. You can dowload it, save your graph data on a SD card then look at it on your computer, adjust and play with it. Also, his unit is the X27c, your 520c does not have the same pixel count. On the sonar viewer you can fine tune it a little more. The computer does a little better job. But it is a neat tool to play with. I set mine up

Sen- 87
Color- 84
Ping- 50
Surface clutter- low
noise reduction- off
Depth -40 ft

You can leave the depth on Auto because the newer graphs adjust just fine especily on whites/hybrids, but when they are hugging bottom I leave mine on 40ft... and most of the time set at 40ft. There are guides that do learning trips , so contact one in your area and tell them what you want out of the trip.

These are files I saved then played on the emulator on the computer, this is a more realistic pic of a graph. You can see the date I recorded these were 9-10-08.

I just wish I could get my boat to the lake. Graph or no graph I need to go fishing. I need a job that I do not have to work 70 hrs a week, but........ I like to eat and I like ac when it is hot. Guess I will keep working until Obama decides to support me.
