How many miles? Check with dealer there was a recall on the speedo's. It might be under warranty.

If it has less than 70k on it, GM (the newly formed goverment backed warranty) will cover it. I just called my dealer last week on my 05 Yukon XL--it's covered. They told me to take it by so they could get some numbers off of it and they would order the part.

2003 Yukon - Dash gauges started going at about 78000. Seems like they know this is a problem and they should fix it regardless of miles. I called the dealer a couple years ago when the first recall notice came out but was told I was SOL because my vehicle was over 70k. The only gauges that work anymore are the speedo, temp and volt - everything else is out. It's over $600 for repair at the dealer and as long as my speedo works I am not going to fix it. Beware - my dad has an 03 Yukon too and he got his guages fixed but it took 3 times - first 2 replacement parts were bad. I have only owned GM vehicles for the past 15 years but that is going to change with the next one I buy. Looking like a new Ford is in my future.

Cost over $400.00 to have it rebuilt at the dealership.

My 03 chevy had 78k on it and i had to call gm and several dealers but after harrassing them a bit i got them to cover it. Had to convince them that it was htere fault for poor manufacturing or engineering. I ended up paying 75 bucks for some labor and that was it.
