I know it isnt a tow vehicle, but I am installing some speakers in my new to me gas milleage getter, a 1994 honda accord. My question is which wires that went to the original speakers are positive and negative, they are blue with a yellow stripe and grey. I would assume blue is + and grey is -.

Thanks for any help guys.

It doesn't matter. Either way you wire it it will work, but to answer your question blue is - and grey is +.

While yes, either way it will work, to some it does matter. The rear speakers will be out of phase with the fronts. It will sound ok, but, people that are really into audio systems will know there is something wrong. The better the system, the more apparent the problem.

If the speaker wires are reversed, the cone will actually pull in when it receives a signal. As opposed to pushing out. 99% of the people out there would never notice it on a factory type audio system. But the higher end the audio system is, the more this would be noticeable.

S speaker cone moves forward & backward to create sound waves. Uot of phase meanes they are not all traveling in the same direction when they should. Therefore sound quality is affected.
