it is coming back, we're still doing some finishing touched, and yes, *every* user will have their own fishing blog.


It is a lot of fun to read through the other blogs there.


We are tentatively planning a "hotter than hell multispecies contest" running the duration of summer.

Which will exclusively be night fishing for most of us, I'd think lol.

Do a fishing contest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Yeah, that's what I need. 100 degree fishing.


We are trying to get the old userbase re-installed into the database, if this fails, then everyone will have to rejoin.

Jeff (el Jefe here) is working on it, he's some sort of php wizard or somesuch, I just have interesting ideas, he made them work.

Scott, we're in the process of getting the old userbase back.

I hope we can get it, but if not, yeah, you'll need to create an account.

Obviously once the contest is going, we won't be mucking around with the db anymore.

I'm planning a 5-6 species trip this week though.

I'm starting tomorrow. I'll either catch some fish or die of heat stroke.

about getting the word out about the contest, besides this section, and the fly fishing section, have you advertised the contest on other sections?

Alright it you hadn't noticed the txfishes contest code is back up.
So upload your images, post your catches, and let the code do the work.

I have not.


People involved in the contest are encouraged to do so though

Everyone who's entered fish already...remember, it appears you need to "officially" sign up for the contest now that the code is running, and log all your fish. ( As the leaderboard lists only two participating anglers currently, with Bret in the lead at 7 species. )

It's easy to "officially" enter, I just did it. Log into the website, Click "Online Entry" on the left, and then click the big "Enter" button in the center of the page.

The front page leaderboard is also live, as is the 'latest entry' section.

Also is an announcement on the front page... very interesting.
