My cousin caught this Big Fat Catfish with a rooster tail of all things. I thought that was weird, never seen that happen before. The cat was real fat, did'nt have scale but it was around 4-5 lbs. and here is a bass I caught on a tube jig. Had 3 but lost 2 at the bank.

That bullhead might have been a state record! State record black bullhead is just a fuzz over 5 lbs.

looks like a mudcat 2 me....ive caught them on spinnerbaits in the past fishing a local pond....always tell its a mud by the fat belly but never seen one that big before....that thing is ugly dude....nice lookin bass though...is this a pond ur fishing???

that could have very possibly been the next state record! those bullheads go for anything that comes by them, they are mean little suckers, and dont get any bigger than that. mud cats have a flatter head and a slender body,not so chunky

Surprised me ....thought it was a good bass but then came in like a boot or something lol no fight ....

They will get bigger than that, I fish a large tank next to stock yard,smells like [censored]. Anyway we've caught em up to 9 or 10 lbs. not sure if it's chemicals from the stock yard or what. I live next to a game warden so brought one home for proper I.D. He said it was a yellow bullhead,and would have set state record but came from private water.

i might be giving it the big eye, but it looks more than 5 lbs. to me. nice catch! i've caught tons of catfish on tube jigs and rooster tails, but never anything more than 2 lbs., and always channel cats at that.

I know where that was caught and I caught one there a couple yrs ago that went 3.29 on a digital scale. I caught mine on a tube jig though.

well u aint the first to catch a cat on a rooster tail and u wont be the last. I once hooked a pretty good size cat on a rooster tail. I never got him in but ai caught a glimpse of him before he broke the line he was about 20 pounds give or take a few pounds. but there was a couple of other occasions that i caught a cat on a rosster tail they were about the size of yours. it may not be what u wanted to catch or expected to catch but it sure is fun.
