I don't see much complaints about Lake Ralph Hall... Or did everyone forget about that?

It would be Marvin Nichols Reservoir (70,000+ acres) but it's facing a lot of opposition from conservation groups and land owners. Good. We need to hold on to Texas Rivers, along; With land owners land. Dallas. Can get over there lawn watering.

I have attached a link to a PDF file showing all proposed reservoir/lake projects in Texas. They are shown in red. A couple of observations: They are going to build the majority of them in East Texas. You build reservoirs where it rains or at least where river systems are fed from good and predictable upstream sources. And, reservoirs are going to be built to provide water for locations where people live. In Texas, that means D/FW, the Austin/San Antonio area and Houston. Cool map to see them all and be able to visualize the sizes compared to existing lakes. Brad New Lakes Map

I agree with you boss we do need more water resources in Texas. As our population grows we need to keep pressure on elected officials to be proactive for our states current and future needs. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see three or four new lakes built in my lifetime. We have enough water ,they TCEQ doesn't want you to use it

Now the beautiful river bottoms, hardwood forests, and all the true diversity of life that is in such places are being covered up with ugly, poor primary productivity (means low standing fish crop), reservoirs. All so that folks in places it doesn't rain enough can have carpetgrass lawns and business parks, green golf courses, and lush greenery where none existed before and cannot exist without a lot of consumptive water use. Better to outlaw carptegrass and golf courses West of I 45 unless irrigated with reclaimed waste water. If you just have to have a carptegrass lawn and play golf, you need to live where nature can support such activities, not destroy other's natural places for your own selfish wants (not needs).
