Does anyone know what is going on out on the lake right now. We just 30 or so boats behind bass pro idling. Out there with them was the Dallas Police and Fire boats, on the bridge there was two ambulances and a fire truck. As we kept driving, two more fire trucks past us heading that way.

Guys be careful out on the lakes now that things are starting to warm up. I hate seeing this kind of thing happen.

boat was moving somewhere in the 100mph range.

From what I heard it was a 43ft cigarette it was the guys 2nd time out in the boat. He supposedly had it up in the 120mph range he backed off of it down to about 100mph and tried to rip it around a bouy in the course for the poker run and rolled it 3 times. That is what I heard.

Sounds like someone with more money than sense in a boat capable of wwwaaayyy more than they could handle, and he thought he could back off and rip a corner like the little bajas do when they slow down to 45mph

Flipping a few times at 100 mph will sure put a head on the beer.

Remember Texoma a few years back. That one did not end as well and he was much more experienced. I think it might be time to ban these things.

Ban the poker runs? Because of two accidents over the span of several years?

one that resulted in deaths.... something needs to be done.

safety obviously isnt a concern for the organizers of these events.

Banning poker runs ain't the answer.

Now banning idiots from being able to operate boats, that I might be interested in!

HMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! So, using this logic...

Since a man died last year while competing in a bass tournament should we ban bass tournaments???

Two men died this year while fishing from their pontoon boat. Should we ban fishing all together???

One man died when his canoe capsized. Should we ban recreational canoeing?

An average of 23 people die every year in boating accidents in Texas. Maybe we should ban boating all together.

Tens of thousands of people die in auto accidents each year. I guess we should ban driving.

Why is it that some people think that because they beleive something is dangerous that no-one should be allowed to do it. If you think it's too dangerous don't participate. As of organizers not considering safety, what would you have them do? Almost nothing you do is totally safe. Heck you can die from slipping in the shower. We can't live life in a bubble.

Now that's something that should be looked at. And not just pleasure boats either. I've seen some guys in bass boats that have no business operating any kind of watercraft.
