Wanted to drop in and do a little shameless self-promotion.
Opened a new tackle shop on 306 just North of Hancock. The Tackle Box (at cayon). We have live bait, tackle, rods and reels, sodas, beer and ice.
Working on finding a few guides in the area to work with so i can provide that service as well.
If you are in the area stop on in. Mention this post and get 10% off your purchase (excluding beer).
Thanks a bunch and hope to see you out here!

I wish I would have known that when I was over there this past weekend. I would have stopped by. I stayed at Potter's Creek over the weekend. I will keep you in mind for my next trip.
If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

I saw you working on the sign last week, I like the setup looks very cozy and should draw alot of anglers in. Your location is great being as how there is nobody that far west on 306, I saw the ice machine and the cool cabin you have there, looks like you are ready to go. I will give a shoutout to everyone to visit when I can.
I am actually headed out there in the morning and depending on what time we get on and what time we get off the lake, if your there I will stop by and say hi.
I wish you much luck and will keep you updated on the catfishing on the lake!!

I'm currently trying to find my par stock. I don't have a whole lot of room but if there is a decent demand for an item i will carry it. I carry medium/large minnows and gold fish. I have 3 tanks so trying to decide if i want to carry gold fish or blacksalty's.so far, not much demand for gold fish.
I have never fished with punch bait, is there a certain brand that works well on canyon? If so i wil carry it.

Big Marv's is a must have when it comes to punchbait, and you won't have any problem selling it!
I've caught many cats using it, and so have a lot of others fishing that bait.
It works!
The supplier manufacturor is out of Gillett Texas, not far at all, just south east of Stockdale, so you wouldn't have problems getting restocked, and there are several places around the lake that already sell it.
I'm not connected to the guy that makes it, just a fisherman who uses it, and knows others who use it.
Hope you do well, and I'll try to stop in as often as I can.
I just clicked on your link and the map shows you're not far from the Ft. Sam, and Randolph retreats, which I frequent, so that is a plus, as that area was lacking in finding a place close to get bait and fishing supplies.

Sorta off topic, but, if you haven't got one, go get a bait dealer's license from TPWD. Saw a Game Warden at the bait shop in Startzville a while back checking their license when I was in buying some bait.

I've had success with both, but prefer Big Marv's as it's easier to get, and most places locally handle it, and glad to see you will also, and by the way, did I say it catches fish?

Guess i should mention that we are open from 6am-9pm daily. Those hours are great. I've always been fustrated with the bait shops around canyon, seem to open around 8am. Go looking for minnows for early morning crappy and have to wait until sun up......

Good to meet you today, Travis. You've got a nice shop, and the location is great. My wife and I will be back for more bait next week. Hopefully, there will be less wind.

Travis, Thanks for getting the Lake Fork Tackle in as I requested. Just a lttle plug here for The Tackle Box..I went in last week for the first time and asked Travis if he had ever considered carrying LFT because they make some of my favorite plastics. He said he would look into it and apparently he did !! I stopped in today and stocked up on my LFT worms and wanted to let you guys know that Travis is a nice guy and is wanting to please his potential clients. Thanks again Travis for getting in the LFT products.
