Took a drive up there this morning, and the Yegua is running GOOD! under Erwin Bridge. Nuemans was closed due to high water. Nails creek off CR125 had a little water running with a few small cats being caught. Cedar creek had no significant water running in it. Jardelle creek on the south side had good water running in it. Looks like the lake will be above pool by end of week. Crappie were the only thing biting at the big creek barge, and most of them were short fish. Them there whites will be happy campers this year!

SOMERVILLE 238.54 That's 6 inches above pool! Lots of rain last night so the lake should flood real good! This is perfect for the spring spawning run.. and it's expected to be a wet winter.. I went up into Jardelle creek Friday after circling the whole lake, caught only one small bass but boy howdy it was a beautiful day...

I just cant wait to hit ole HLS's "secret hole" again for hybrids..ha! I suspect that "secret hole" won't be as good as it was last time.. it was a very particular set of circumstances that led to those hybrids being up that far and trapped..

I'm going to give it a few days...maybe till next week...and then it's slab time at Newman's! I think it's been three years since I had some water to fish down there! Can't wait. 3 years ago, I caught my first limit of whites on January 10th. Getting ancy!

To throw this out there also..
The Navasota River and I also think the Brazos are both suppose to "Officially Flood" Tonight and continue through tomorrow.(I think the Navasota is suppose to be near i think 19.6?) So anyone even thinking of doing river fishing please be careful.

I seen the brazos today and MAN! Its almost at top banks and is rolling!!! soon as they quit letting water out of the dam you can go down there and clean up on crappie and real good sized flatheads. for crappie toss some jigs out from the rocks and retreive slowly and along the dam wall. for the flats catch ya some nice perch with a float roughly 4-5ft deep throw him right outside of the rocks and let him swim...
