Got permission to fish some ponds here in Blue Ridge and decided to take my fly rod and try for some of the hybrid bluegills he said were in one of the ponds... All I can say is those might be my new favorite fish to catch! Man what a blast on a fly rod! They were goin to town on the green wooly bugger I was using! Will post pics. tom. if I get a chance to go back!

Agree, they are an absolute blast on a fly rod...very aggressive, hard fighting fish.

caught a bunch a big longears of the fly this afternoon. It was a blast! The 12in bass didn't even fight as hard as the 8 in sunfish.

Chickenwilly that sounds like a blast! Sure do love to get into the green sunfishes. They are car door dinging, mailbox busting, knife-carrying hoodlums of the sunfishes!
