Bought my first boat this month and put progressive insurance on it. I wish I would of seen this post earlier. I have never had progressive. Can someone give me an agents name to look over my policy and see if I am needing some coverage I am not aware of?

I have progressive on my boat, and just finished a total loss claim. It was by far the easiest process I have ever gone through with an insurance company. The key is to insure your boat for an spacific dollar amount and not fair market value.

My truck was hit by a lady insured by Progressive. I had to end up hiring an attorney and sueing Progressive. It cost them my legal fees and a lot more than I was originally asking for in the first place when they finally settled out of court. I dropped my Progressive boat insurance imediately. Guess it all depends on the local rep. I'm looking for boat insurance now.

If USAA uses progressive for thier boat insurance, they must be alright.

actualy you may want to call usaa if your not happy with progressive, cause usaa dosnt have actualy boat insurance so they use progressive to cover that side. I myself have usaa for all my vehics, and was surprised when I called to get boat insurance and they said it will actualy be through progressive.

I have Progressive and had a claim. I had the check in my hand 1 week after the accident. Very quick and professional service.

have had two claims with progressive and never had one issue. During an ice storm two years ago a tree fell on top of my truck and they cut the check the same day it was inspected.

Then Jan of this year my truck ended up missing out of were i last parked it. Did take a month or so to get it resolved but was resolved fairly easy

not to be a bugger, but i have a claim pending right now on my boat trailer, seems to have locked up the master cylender and burned to a point of fire my hubs. called it in weds eve, adjuster got back to me fri, said it would be at least monday before he could get to me, that plus at least a week in the shop, cost me now two weeks down time, at least 5 tournaments, and I am not a happy camper.

There a great company and my boat is insured with them but beware of claims with lower units! I know of four people this year that hit a stump (collision) and messed up the lower unit and progressive denied 3 and 1 had to get an attorny to get it covered. Lower units are not cheap.

Why would they cover a mechanical failure?

I started a claim with Progressive today. I hit a stump at Fork and bent my prop shaft and cracked the skag. I made one call to 1-800-progressive and gave the lady a quick version of me hitting the stump. She asked if I was hurt and I told her just my feelings and she said a claims adjuster would call me back within 2 hours. I got a call about 30 min later and the man took a statement and is coming to my house tomorrow to look at the boat. He say's I can then take it to repair shop of my choice. He does want to look at the shaft on a bench with dial indicators once the shop has it removed. I am hoping for a new lower unit because mine now makes an evil sounding squeal as the prop rotates. I can only imagine gears and bearings just chewing themselves up in there. I guess I will know more tomorrow.

I also forgot to mention something else Progressive did for me... I had been with them for 2 year without any claims, so they dropped my $1k deductible down to $250 since I was a loyal customer. I cant stress enough how great they treated me. I hope to never have to make a claim call again, but when I do I feel certain they will be there to take care of me again, unlike State Farm who dropped me after my first claim EVER on any insurance of any kind for a lower unit collision. They covered the lower unit, then curbed me. I had my auto insurance with them for 10 years without a claim, boat insurance for 2 years, renters insurance for 4 years, and then homeowners for 2 years without a single claim and then one lower unit hit and they drop my boat policy.
