Yes it is referring to line weight.

I cannot say enough about the lamson konic, my buddy bought the lightspeed for like$300 or more and loved it, I bought the konic for $140 and he's very jealous. The drag system is all the same as the super high end only the housing is an alloy. Which means not quite as strong as a machined bar stock. I have used it for over a year now and love it. The drag system is unbelievable. I have the TFO axiom and a konic reel and its a sweet setup for both salt and stripers. Check em out, you'll go home with one!

Those are all great reels ^, just make sure that whatever reel you get is going to be able to take the abuse of the grit and salt that you will encounter chasing tarpon and bones. Sounds obvious, but saltwater separates the men from the boys when it comes to fishing gear. There have been lots of previous posts about saltwater flyreels on here, search some of them up and I bet you'll have more than enough info to make an educated choice.

my orvis battenkill large arbor stood up to a few hefty bones that i caught in coz this past summer while i watched as my buddies bass pro 270 reel's fall apart on a run from a bone... the screw we beganing to get stripped and wasnt tighten and the bone finished off the screw and the spool fell into the flat....

but the only reason i got my ovris was because i knew a manager who got me a killer deal, when the reel was already on sale...
