There is a place about 1 mile east of the main bridge on Hwy 80, its a gas station and has decent food. There is an A frame store about a 1/4 of a mile east but the selection is not as good. If your on the west side of the bridge there is a store by the water tower. They have a good selection as well. It is about 1/4 mile west of the bridge on the south side. Hope this helps.

Thanks Howell! I really appreciate the info. You ever get back over there much? Fished around there all the time but have never bought minnows. smile

LipRippin.... It will be a week or so before I can go. We have been catching some crappie there. They were coming up shallow here or there then with the rain last week, it moved everything out a little and they were suspending over the main river channel. Fishing mainly with jigs. You need to get out there. It is a great lake and fun to fish!

Our bait shop is located about 1/4 mile west of the bridge on the north side of the road, we are right next door to the plaza motel. We have crappie minnows, perch, salty's, cut shad, whole shad, shad gizzards and all the tackle you need. We also carry slab buster crappie jigs. Might even share a hot spot or two with you! If you are in the area you can call us at 254-559-0605. Like us on Facebook too! Our lake is still 13 foot low and the boat ramp at the dam is open.. Great fishing though.. Worth the trip!

We were out there for the first time last Saturday. Spend most of the trip just running the graph and learning the lake. Did pick up one or two on some small deep (30ft) structure near the dam on the end farthest from the ramp. There was tons of bait being marked in the channel every time we were in it. If I remember, water temp was 47. Probably 6-8 truck/trailers in the parking lot at the ramp and I "think" it may be the only ramp open right now. We will probably try spider rigging the channel on return trip.
