Prayers Sent. Will donating blood at Carter help out? I'm not sure if it will in this case, but donating blood at Carter ALWAYS helps someone in need. I make a regular donation. And the free t-shirts are always good to wear on the boat.  Prayers sent for Cliff!

Thanks to mwbullet wanting to help a friend, I asked him about having a Blood Drive for Cliff Lazenby. I have never met Cliff, but we all know someone who is affected by Cancer. The Blood Drive is being held at Fun-N-Sun Boats 320 W. Hurst Blvd Hurst, Texas 76053 on Saturday April 11,2009 from 8am - 11am. Carter Blood Care Mobile Unit will be there. Appointments for donating can be sceduled through their website www.carterbloodcare.org / Click on "Donate Blood" / Click on "Mobile Blood Drive" on pull down menu / Put in your Zip Code and SPON047698 / Them input you info and time / They will be able to scedule about 24 donors in the 3 hours on site. If you wish to donate and cannot be there, you can donate at any Carter Blood Care location and donate under SPON047698 and Cliff Lazenby will get credit for the donation. The Blood Drive for Cliff is being held at the Fun-N-Sun Boats Hurst location on Saturday 04/11/2009 from 8am-11am Carter Blood Care Mobile Unit will be there. No not exactly! They are already checking for a match. They will check all of his closest family first then go to the Data Base if none of his near family are a match. What i was getting at is if anybody wants to give blood for his cause they can do so and have it credited to Cliff. Update on Cliff's pending marrow transplant. His brothers & sister were not a tissue match, so they started checking for matches in the donor bank. Out of 11,000,000 people, they came back with 269 potential matches. Further testing will be done over the course of the next month or so to determine the closest match for the transplant. In Ft. Worth, Cooks Children's Hospital is the initial testing center to get into the donor bank program. I am going to be checking with them this week to determine what the steps are necessary to get in. I'll let yall know what I find out. In the meantime, plan on getting out to the blood drive on the 11th. The pain is minuscule and it really helps those in need of blood services.

Thanks to all who came out Saturday to Donate Blood. We had 19 people total who donated! The people at Carter Blood Care said it will end up helping more than 75 patients. Please keep Cliff Lazenby and his family in your Prayers.
