I'm headed to Gander Mountain after work today to buy some Green Pumpkin Super Hogs, 3/8 Black Weights and 3/0 hooks. Im going to Conroe lake/Peach Creek tomorrow and hopefully I'll have the same success!
Great write up Casey. I haven't seen Jeremy or Crystal in nearly 11 years. Use to fish with their cousin Eric all the time. Great to see he is stick whacking the fish.

I fished Conroe yesterday. Tried to replicate exactly what was done on Day on the Water. I went to the same cove and pitched the same stuff and ended up with 2 fish (3-6, and 2-0). The wind kicked into top gear at about 9:30 and I had to head for a more protected area. The fish were in about 3.5-4 foot of water about mid way back in Peach Creek. I think I caught the 3-6 on the same laydown that is mentioned in the Day on the Water. I'm headed back out Sunday but not sure if I'll go to Conroe or Gibbons.

I did a cast over the top of the laydown and thought I was hung up for about 5 seconds. I then felt it pull back and thought for a couple of seconds that I really had a huge fish on the other end. He eventually swam out and still ended up a decent fish at 3-06. Your Day on the Water series is really the best thing ever for guys like me. I really study them in detail and they've helped my fishing tremendously. Would like to see you bring somebody to Gibbons Creek someday. I'd like to see how they do there! Thanks.
my buddy and I fished peach creek Saturday and boy is it hard to get in there especially with 25 mph wind from the south. it is a very productive spot though. we ended up with 3 out of there with about 6 fish that broke off and a nice one at the boat that shook us off.
and +1 for Gibbbons creek.. talk about a tough lake. I fish it just about every weekend and STILL cannot come up with a consistent pattern. I'd like to see how a great angler approaches the lake.
nice write up by the way. always good info and tips
