I was just wondering how the cats were doing on Fayette? I never fished for catfish on this lake before. Does anyone know about the shad on this lake are there any in it? I threw a net for several hours a while back. I'm not sure if I wasn't holding my foot just right or what. But I came up empty except for the 4 LBS bass I got in the net. I would like to give it one more try but need some help.

Yeah i would like to know more about the catfish on this lake. I know there are nice ones out there and have heard of a couple of 50 plus catfish being caught. I also heard catfishing at night is better too.

I have seen several catfish caught at the entrance to the discharge channel. There is a rock groin coming out with a marker buoy there.

Sniper, Yep, there's threadfin and gizzard shad. The gizzards get up to 14" long and you'll find them floating along the shoreline when the water really heats up in April onward. The only cats I've caught out there were on spinnerbaits and plastics while I fish for bass. Average about 4-5 lbs. Lots of guys fish at night though with big rigs. Not sure how they do.

Striper Sniper - I have catfished Fayette last summer using Sure-Shot punch bait and the conditions weren't exactly right (light wind or none at all) but we still managed to bring in 38 channels between 1 3/4 to 5 lbs. and this was fishing without chumming an area prior to fishing.
I see you live in Fayetteville and dang, you can't be any closer than that unless you live on the lake! I'm in the West Point area and really need to get out there again and also try for some Tilapia as well.
Holler at me if you ever want to get together and fish it...you probably know more about the lake than I do and I've only fished it twice!
