Thanks, Dave, hopefully Ocho Tuna will get here before SKR has a banana overload. Were going to get the captain of the Scat Cat to play some mariachi music when SkR catches his first YFT on Ocho Tuna. It's been a while for SkR.

Plus I believe someone has not eaten his first tuna heart.

We need to hear from Ricky and right away, other than that we are running smooth for Ocho Tuna, just a few things that need to made sure of from the group, but the charter is in place.
We'll update next week, from this afternoon through Monday I will be limited to cell phone contact (210)215-3877 most of the time. An email will get a response, but specific answers will be given on Monday.

Just a quick update. Email was sent to all on Ocho Tuna with thoughts to consider. We appreciate the responses so far and will do as directed on those responses. That's what makes the TFF Tuna group enjoyable to work for, we ask or suggest things and we get input back and try to make the charter the best possible charter it can be for TFF Tunaheads.
Let us know if anyone did not get the email from Monday.
SkR, let us know if you want to borrow the TLD 20II or the conventional topwater rig of ours. Believe you're looking to buy some offshore gear and if what we have can be of use and save you a little money right now, you're welcome to use it.
Just let us know.

thanks for the offer. I may borrow the 20II as a backup. have one bottom/chunk rig planned and in the works to buy. and topwater rod will be built, and jiggin rod already bought. shimano spheros 14000 will be on both the jiggin and topwater rods.(2 of them). having a backup in case of a conventional setup disaster would be a plus. appreciate it Willy! i owe ya another keg of Shiner Chicken(bock bock bock).

I know it's still 203 Days away (according to the Ocho Tuna Counter). But I was wondering if anyone from the Dallas area would consider car pooling? I'll split gas, wear and tear. Got alot of miles on my truck and don't really want to rent a vehicle and just let it sit there.

I was very impressed with the fuel mileage that one ton got. I wish mine got anywhere close to that.

I said I wasn't going to fish as much this year, but I already have 2 56 hrs trips, one 12 hr trip and then my buddy normally makes 2 trips with his boat to Venice so that makes 5 on the books already. I am getting my spare Thunnus 16000 fixed with carbon drags like the other one and going to match it with another OTI rod for popping. I think that puts me at 7 combos! Like I need another one!! I need more money!!!

You might try to find some Mango Liquor to add to the regular to make it a mango. I normally keep several possibilites at the house. Chambord is a rasperry liquor that is very good also. It is a double bowl machine so we will have Margaritas is one side and non alcoholic lemonades on the other.

Does this trip still have 2 openings left?

If someone who has no appropriate gear for this wants to go, would you still recommend this trip(i.e. what am I getting in for)? What is the minimum gear you would recommend taking and how many setups? I am really interested in going.

I am not on this trip because I have one of the same a few weeks before it and another a few weeks after it. I have a rig I carry as a backup that I would loan you.

It's a Shimano TLD 30 II speed spooled with Momoi Diamond 60# mounted on a 5'6" 50 - 80# rod. I have caught a number of YFT up to 75 lbs. on it with no problems.

If you sign up let me know.

Markk, as of right now there are not any open spots on Ocho Tuna; we have a couple people on standby and we are waiting to see how the open spot fills. There maybe no one on standby or still one spot, or you might be able to take the spot. The two on standby get first call.
Email us at too@outdoorstexas.com and we'll fill you in on where we stand on Ocho Tuna, plus that will give us a record of you asking for a spot for our files.
Bobby's offer is solid one and the rig he is offering will do just fine if you do get a spot on Ocho Tuna.
