you can actually use'em for both bait and table fair.
I'm korean and ribbonfish are considered a favorite amoungest us. if you want to try it out. jus gut it and chop it into good 3-4 in pieces. Then fry in butter, salt, and pepper. Once you get around the bones, the meat is nice a firm and has a great taste.
here's a good link. It shows how to make it all fancy, but i jus like the simple way
and i've seen people use'em them as bait on the jetties in port A.
use a lemon rig with a kingfish/ribbonfish rig and let it set near the end of the jetty on the channel side. I've seen big kingfish come out of there.

Thats some good bait there! Keep them, freeze them for later and use off the jetties! Hang on to the rod tight cause them kingfish and sharks LOVE ribbonfish!

We caught a lot of these ribbon fish on the surf side during summer time. This year thinking about rigging one up on a surf rod and free line with the current and see if we can get a KING to hit it.
