Thats odd, I've had one on my last two boats and have yet to see a crack or anything.. Mine gets plenty of use as well and has seen a lot of UV rays. Matter of fact out of all the people I know that have one this is the first and only complaint I have ever heard from them.

the Pro Control comes with its own plexiglass template and allmounting hardware including a drain hose. Very well written instructions. Pretty easy install. The base of the tray is 3/4 thick so there is no danger of it cracking or anything like that. I actually screwed my pedalinto the tray and it has not given me an issue at all.

Put one in boat and love it. Double and triple check to make sure you are not cutting into anything, you actually have some room to move it around on some decks. After you have triple measured cut once!! After the carpet has been removed use a drill and drill a 1/2 in. hole where the corners are going to be. A radiused corner is less likely to crack under stress that a 45 deg. corner will. Good luck.

got mine off ebay it was cheap 100 but its a little bigger than bass pros i think its all hravy duty aluminum powdercoat drain hose with paper templet i used the shipping box to make a stronger templet. I put mine on my (older) 17-1/2 nitro 1990 the front compartment went all the way up to the seat pedestool insert so look out for that if your nitro is anything like mine

Question: Insall in the center or to right or left, angle it, straight? If you install in the center won't you have to stand on the edge on one side of the boat or the other? Just wondeing before I cut a hole that can't be moved. Seems like you would off set to one side of the other if you are right or left footed? Is there even such a thing as right or left footed? Anyway just a thought.

I agree with HasBen, cofortroll makes the best aftermarket recessed tray out there hands down. I have a 96 Stratos, installed mine in about 1 hour. Would never own a boat without one. No More back and leg aches after a day of fishing.

Also, Comfortroll even comes with a drain hose to run down the middle of the hull alond with your pedestal hole drain hose. The only modification I made to my tray was paint the srew heads black.
