I am thinking about buying one to install by myself on my 17' Nitro. I was wondering if it would comprimise the integrity of the deck? Are there any tips that would be recommended? I was going to order online at troll-eze.com but I am not sure. It looks like the same one they sell at BPS.

I came in early at a tourney and dock talked with a guy that won the thing. His name is Vince and he told me that he would not have a boat without one. Do others feel the same way?
Thank you for your input TFFr's

I do. since I installed mine I love it.

I was told it did void the warranty on your boat. Not sure if that is true or not.

I do not think it comprimised the intergrity of my Skeeter.
Easy to install as well.

I will never again fish without a recessed foot petal again. After a long day on the water you can really tell a difference. Another big advantage to the recessed petal is when fishing in large waves, stability while standing on the front deck is greatly improved. Spend the $ and get yourself one, its a investment you will not be sorry you made.

I have a 17 ft. Champion and installed one. It is great, cant believe I waited so long to do it. So much easier on your back and legs.

I have 1 and love it. You feel a lot safer in rough water. I had mine done at Lake Fork Fiberglass, I think it was like $125 installed. Also, he matches the color of your boat of the gel-coat or metal flake and he re-enforces the floor where he cuts, so you dont feel any soft sports. Well worth the money IMO.

I just installed mine and waiting to try it out. I used the pro-troll, thats the link Ronnie has posted above. After I got it laid out it took me awhile to get the nuts to cut a whole in my boat. After cutting the hole ,I sprayed the cut part of the deck with some under coating rubber. Found this stuff at Home Depot. It sealed it pretty good. Not sure that it made it water tight but sealed it.
It sure feels good standing on it fishing in the drive way.

You will love it.

I kick myself for not doing it sooner. You just have to get over putting that first hole in the boat.

I ordered mine from a guy online. Talk with George, he will take good care of you. Tell him I sent you.
