Lucky for these two I was there to save them from each other. Everyone has been saying to use smaller baits in the winter- BullCarp! I'm puttin' on some of my biggest swimbaits now. I thought the bass was dead but he flinched when I pulled the crappie out. Both survived and swam of just fine. The Bass was a 14.5 slot.

That's the second time I've seen that happen! I had the same thing happen to my brother in-law when we were fishing at the bridge at RR. We thought we had caught a nice 5-6 lbs bass when I netted it. Turns out that he was holding on to the small crappie and came up with it. It let go of the crappie just as I netted it. Cool pic, have to find mine.

That's cool, had a few crappie that I found floating in water with small catfish stuck in their mouths. Catfish survived, crappie drowned and floated to top of water.

Thanks for sharing. I netted a floating big Bass with a Cat stuck in it's mouth like that, Cat finned the Bass and bass died, Cat swam away. And once I was pulling in a nice size Crappie that a Bass hit and pulled them both in. Those big mouths are meant for BIG BAITS.

Hey, you just let that bass's dinner swim away!!! How could you be that cruel? Well, it was either push or pull. I think they both preferred the latter. The lesson I learned is where I'm putting my new set of crappie condos. I'll post the coords later----NOT! They are gonna be easy enough to find anyway on the Vine, it's such a small pond. Somewhere between the dam and Marshall Creek.

I have seen that a few times on RR. A few years back I was running a troutline that I had out. Came across a big cat that at the time I thought swallowed the hook, so I just unhooked the leader from the main line. Come to find out the big cat was not even hooked, it had swallowed about a 2 lb cat that was hooked. I thought that was pretty funny . By the way that bass looks skinny, I bet he he sure was hungry for some crappie .

I caught a 5 or 6" crappie one time on a 4" shad and it was wedged in his mouth like that. It was funny to see that little fart trying to swallow that big shad.
