Loc: fishin Texas... are you?
Just saw this post on TKF about the tragic loss of our good friend greyloon.

Hello folks, I just got this sad message from Greyloon (Jerry Fletcher)'s wife Myrtie.

This is Myrtie, Jerry's wife. I have some very bad news... Jerry died while fishing on Lake Houston today. He was found at about 5:30 this afternoon floating near his canoe a mile or so upstream from River Grove Park. They're thinking heart attack; they say he didn't look like he had drowned, but an autopsy is being performed.

This forum and fishing was so important to him and I know he thought the world of you. Please pass the word for me. I really don't know the people of his "internet" world, but I think many of them would want to know.

One more thing... he must have been having a good day; he had a full stringer of catfish. How I wish he were home cleaning them tonight. I'm just in shock. But I want to thank you for your friendship to Jerry.

If you want to contact me, my email is myrtiep@lycos.com and our phone number is 281-359-8667. I don't know when the body will be released or what I'll do about arrangements... Jerry had always said he wanted to be cremated. I just can't think tonight.

Please let everyone know that you think would want to know. I would appreciate it so much.

Myrtie

Our prayers go out to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many of his Texas fishing friends.

my condolences to the family

Sounds like he was having a great day fishing.

If I'm only so lucky when it is my time.

Oh that's so sad! I have had conversations with him on here before and he always was nice and gave sage advice. I definitely will pray for the family. I know he's doing fine.
