Depends on use and exposure, but when it starts to discolor slightly, check for nicks, weak places, etc. Usually, you can just strip off 10-15' and be good to go for several months, up to a year.

Reverse it. I pull it off the reel, wind the used end on first. Now good for ??

I think it stays good forever like nuclear waste and twinkies. Other than loosing its color it's on for the long haul.

That stuff will last forever. Get you a green marker and mark up the first 15' and you'll be ok again!!!!

Is Power Pro better than spider wire?

I believe it is....spider wire is less abrasion resistant and it tangles a heck of a lot more IMO.

I have some spider wire that I am waiting for it to completely run out. It does nick very easy, does not cast that smoothly at first either. I will probably switch to Power Pro once I am really sick and tired of it.

Spiderwire tangles easily and is one of the few braids that I have had actually break on a regular basis.

Stick with the power pro...either reverse the line on the spool or pull a little off. I use markers to remark the colors on the line.

That is what I do. After I have recolored it a few times. Tie it to the fence, door handle, etc. Strip and reattach and reel it in.
