Sat- Fished with Gary,Harriet, Julie and Karl of Floresville,Tx this morning. Had a beautiful morning of fishing and awesome weather. Fish were a little scattered but they bite all the same. Caught 45 by 1200 and headed to the house. Nice mix of blues and channel cats coming on Team Catfish 3/0-5/0 Double Action Hooks and Big Marv's.

Sunday- Albert and Katie and dad Dell fished with me again this morning. We had a blast catching fish after fish. Got onto a mess of channels then headed otu in search of some blues for them to take home. Had a great time catching 60 fish by 12:30. Fish feel for fresh shad on 5/0 Team Catfish hooks and Big Marvs fished under a float and carolina rigged. I've been using the Double Action hooks for awhile now but they made the trip today with the wind being like it was, was hard for customers to see the line, hooks took care of the rest....great weekend on the water with great people.

Also ran into quite a few TFF'er's out there this weekend...hope all went well and got ya some fish.
Cliff

Boy it's great to see your report posted back up. I went on Sat. night and struck out. I threw the kitchen sink at them with no luck. I really need to get out there with you and learn from the best! Hey Rubes, did you get your wheel back buddy? I heard you had a bad knee.

Cliff, im curious how do you use big marvs on double action hooks? dont you have to use a treble hook for punch bait?

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he thickens it to where it can be moulded into a ball? I actually do that same thing with DK's and trebles. Yes I get my fingers dirty with DK's, instead of just pushing it in with a stick. It stays on the treble hook better.

Marvin, that's good to know. Those braunig kitties are big bad boys as you well know. Hope to be out there soon and see Justin puttin' it on ya!

Scott & Kyle....it's really pretty simple...use a Dead red Tube with the 3/0 hook and you'll tear em' up or just use a treble with Big Marv's. The double action hooks make it simpler to catch fish. Can either set the hook or let the fish do the work for you. Can't go wrong IMHO.
We had either marv's or fresh shad on the Team Catfish hooks and did well.
Fishin' is good and getting better every day. Took this weekend off to get salty down south. Next available day is mid Nov. Be on Choke and Cally till then...tight lines

Cliff, you mean use big marvs on the dead red tube, or secret seven? I love using big marvs bait, but hate trying to get a treble hook out of a cats mouth...a lot of times I bend or break them trying to get them out with pliers. if big marvs can be used on a single hook that would be easier I think.

Scott, Been busy fishin down at baffin this weekend and school. Yes you can use a singlehook as described. But if bending trebles is an issue...use VMC treble hooks, don't bend and well worth it.
Fished friday at Calaveras with Chuck and Tom Dewey..caught nice 50 fish limit before 1030 of blues and channels. Will post pics will get camera back from B in law
Hope this helped
