I have a freezer full. What is the best way to cook it? I have never had it.We are frying up some crappie tonight and I was thinking about trying some of the king fish.

Try your KF on the grille. Experiment with different marinades and seasonings. The last time we grilled KF we marinated some fillets golden ceasar dressing and seasoned with Tony's seasoning. Excellent grilled this way. Sorry, but have not had very good luck frying KF. We don't freeze KF or any other fish anymore. KF are always better fresh. Good luck and enjoy!!!

I fry KF fresh or frozen. The key is to cut into small pieces and fry in small batches. I've grilled KF and it tasted good too. I used the World Harbors Fajita Marinade on the KF and grilled it over Mesquite coals and I ate a ton. Remember to be carefull of KF consumption in the quantity and frequency of how often you eat it. It has mercury in it.

the squirrel in your sig probably ate too much kingfish eeks haha, anyways, marinate it and grill it. i guess everyone is different, i can't tell the difference but my dad will gag and vomit at anything fishy'er then crappie or catfish. its all good to me. i like lots of citrus like lime and lemon some nice garlic butter to baste with (watch out for the flair-ups) then some spicy stuff like Slap Ya Mama in the red can. make some tacos outta that with a little pico and corn tortillas

get you some chili powder and mix it in to some olive oil. leave the skin on and grill them, cover them pretty good w/ the oil chili powder mix. score the meat pretty good so it doesnt curl up so bad. pretty easy way to do it and taste pretty good. of course a little tonys on them wouldnt hurt a thing, good stuff!

I have always cut it into 1/2" x 4" fillets/nuggets and fried it with a "fish n chip" style batter till they are golden and float. It is better almost any "fish n chips" I have ever had.

Be careful with that kingfish and make sure you don't serve too much to any kids...I hear its pretty loaded with some nasty stuff. I caught a few last time out and I used a recipe I got online...it consisted mainly of cooking it in the oven with Mayonnaise and butter....I'll let you figure out how it tasted. Last week I cooked it up by stuffing it with a jalapeno and wrapping it in bacon. Oh yeah...I marinated it in italian dressing for about 1/2 hour then I grilled it. It was edible...I liked it, but everyone else loved it...maybe they were being nice...who knows.

Soak them in brine ( saltwater) before cooking them. It helps.

I dont eat them. Too nasty. Fun to catch, though !
