I would of thought a 2hp would push them faster then 4 mph, actually I thought a 30 or 36 lb thrust might get close to that. Maybe I should rethink my plans for mine.

trapper,

According to my handheld gps, the 51lb trolling motor pushed it at a little over 2mph and the 2hp a little over 4. With your legs out in front of you, using the flippers for a rudder, that's fast enough for me.

7lb,

You just have to find someone who has one lying around. They quit making these several years ago. Mr Sir, here on TFF, sells a styrofoam kick boat, but I'm not sure it will handle a motor. You might check with him. I've seen homemade from styrofoam that have been beefed up by coating it with fiberglass and then adding a transom for a motor.

Tony,
I think this might be a way to go to have a set up similar to yours. Does anyone know anything about this?

I am the guy that has The Frog Boats and appreciate you for checking them out. We have logged numerous hours in the boats and they are a BLAST. I know the price is a bit of a shock but they are each hand assembled by the owner/inventor. The materials are all top quality. He has build these to last DECADES. Blessing's to you and let us know if we can show you the boats sometime. smile
