Skunked! Didn't catch nary nothing. What worked on the bass last week did not work this week. The two keeper Bass I saw taken were on bottom fished minnows. A number of channels (5) wee caught on homemade dough balls by the guy fishing next to me.
I made some "boillies" (boiled doughballs) and chummed with 4 cans of corn in hopes of a carp, buffalo, or maybe an unwary channel, but to no avail.
So I picked up my stuff and removed my hungry body to the town of Jefferson in hopes of some sight seeing (the motor cyclists were in town) and some food. Again I was foiled. Took a picture of a biker with a monkey on his back (left the lens cap on) Walked about 5 blocks to find the restaurants closed and the food stands charging up to $5 for a corn dog. Wow! Sticker shock.
Stopped at the new Dairy Queen on the way out of town for a steak finger basket. Nother mistake! French fries were cold. I asked for salt and no catchup packets. Got 6 catchups, 2 peppers and one stinking salt packet. The gravy was warm, steak fingers were peppery and of a meat I could not readily determine the origin of.
At least the sun was shining, the day was perfect and gas was down to $2.79 so all was not lost.

Yuck. I had some chocolate covered peanuts and a quart of ice tea along. Vienna Sausage just never appealed to me.

I was in Longview last weekend, taking pictures of the girls’ soccer game tournament from 9am to 5pm. My arm was sore and I got lots of suntan. After the game, I went to my mom and pop's house (they adopted me spiritually) and they cooked me some nice juicy Ribeye Steak and mashed them up thay-der! I am going back again to Longview this weekend to take the official soccer team pictures. I thought about running to the LOP Dam last weekend, but got stuck setting up and transferring data on their new Dell computer they just bought at Sam's. My dad in Dallas said that Texoma is doing good. People are catching Stripers left and right.

grandpa, I feel your pain. I have been skunked too many times at LOP this year. Worse year ever actually as far as skunked goes. Some days are pretty good, some just okay...about four times this year the fishing was great. You just never know till ya get the gear out and get your line wet. Hope your next trip is much better for ya.
