Hello Guys, I am new to TFF,
I have a vacation week (and my B-day) this week, planning on spending some time at RayBob chasing whatever is biting! Does anyone have any pointers for me? Not very familiar with lake hotspot areas? May spend some time on Grapevine as well, anyone familiar with Grapevine?
Thanks, any tips would be greatly appreciated! _________________________

Grapevine from what i have heard is about to start up. I haven't fished it this fall yet but i fished it hard this summer. The fall bite at g=vine is usually great. I would look around the island, Murrell park, and rock crusher. it would not hurt to check the bubbles near the dam. I'm not sure who has been fishing it lately but Bamaboy does really good out there so I would go off of what he has to say

Thank you! Where is the island? Murrell Park and rock crusher? I put in off of Kimball last time I was there.
Thanks

You might take a hard look at what the wind is doing. I was on Grapevine Friday and the wind made it very difficult to fish the north shore.

.....Bamaboy does really good out there so I would go off of what he has to say I wish that was the case, I've done good and bad, naturally I don't post the bad . The places they've mentioned are about all I could tell you. Also Rockledge park, on the west end of the Rocks/cliffs there's a fast drop off that I've done some good on on some days. It will go from about 10 ft to about 30 ft real quick. Also I don't remember if anyone mentioned the bubbles, it's an airerator by the dam, about 200yds South of the center of the dam. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it. Hopefully Jeff Schiller will chime in, the guy knows this lake . Here's a couple of maps that may or may not help. First is a general map of the lake without many references to names. http://www.lonestarlakes.com/map/guestmap.php?map=grapevineSecond is a map of the City of Grapevine owned parks and launches. For the mostpart I believe that Katy Woods ramp will be your best choice for launching, most of the other ramps are at an angle that requires you to get all four of your tires in the water before you can float your boat. I hope this helps some. http://www.ci.grapevine.tx.us/Portals/0/park%20road%20correct%20rename%208-.pdf

Grapevine has been really suspect lately. Hopefully the cooler wheather with get them fired up. I was out Sunday, and I tell you, I would have had a better chance of winning the election than catching a limit. It was some hard fishing, and the wind does not help at all. I hope the weather settles so we can all do some serious fishing. The wind was terrible over the weekend.

I fished it Monday. For two hours we played around The Bubbles. I caught 5 Snadies on a Rapala 5-10ft diving crankbait, and one Channel Cat. I had a ball! Mr Bassin kept saying "Man they aint even biting!'. I want to go back so bad!

It was the only good ramp left on the southside as of about a week ago that my ramp permit is good for.

It will be fine for me since my Skeeter is so low to the ground. I didn't even get my feet wet and the lake was 5 ft low last time. I can actually still use meadomere but I am tired of wet feet all day.
