I'd get 6, 2 shallow, 2 medium and 2 deep. I'd get a shad pattern and a chartreuse in each depth. These 6 baits should give you enough options in depth and color to work most of the time. If you want cheap, I'd get the H2O baits from Academy.

DT fat 3, DT 6, DT 10, DT 16, and a Red Eye Shad... Get them in a shad or bleeding shad pattern and you are good to go. Be sure to change the split ring to three sizes higher to reduce the risk of a fish throwing the hooks, and I ALWAYS change out the factory hooks for owner stingers or mustad triple grips. Good luck!

This is my personal opinion only but I would have 1 or 2ea of the following:
Lucky Craft RC 0.5 and 1.5 sizes in white shad and blue bream. H2O Express RC type bait in sexy shad and chrome sexy shad. Spro Little John in cellmate. Bandit 200 in splatterback and citrus. Strike King Series 3, 5 and 6 in sexy shad. Norman DD22 in Tn shad and citrus.
Pretty much hard to go wrong with these and they got you covered from 0' to 20ft or so.
