If anybody is interested I've been catching 2.5-5 foot long gar in the shallows inbetween Pelican Island and the point on Eagle Mountain. I've been trying to catch cats but so far I've caught as many gar as catfish which over the last 5 trips is hovering in the low to middle 20's. I've been doing all my fishing over there using shad.
