Richland (my alma mater) is 6-0 for the first time in...maybe ever? They should be 8-0 with the next two games against Pascal and Weatherford, then be brought crashing down to earth in week 9 when they play Abilene. Still, nice to see them doing well. They won some 7-man national title this summer. I figured it was a fluke, but they do have some athletes for a change.

Kinda hard to be pizzed at this one, although I am dejected.

Coppell brought their game tonight, and flat out beat us. We had a chance at a game winning field goal with 3 seconds in regulation, and muffed the snap. Way too many mistakes, and Coppell is a solid team.

Speaking of "Friday Night Lights", although the "Little Southwest Conference" is not what it used to be (1980s), the Permian Panthers are 6-0 after easily handling Midland Lee last night. Look for them to be sneaking up in the polls.

Bremond won again (27-23) to remain undefeated at 6-0, beating a Lovelady team that jumped out to a 16-0 lead and lead 23-20 late in the 4th.
Don't know if this team can return to the state championship game for the second straight year but I can't wait for the big game against Mart on the 24th.
That will be one heck of a game.
