John, I wish I believed that, but I no longer do. McCain just refuses to do what is necessary. He has to draw distinctions between himself and Bush. To heck with Obama. America sees him for the empty suit he truly is. But they are angry with Republicans, and especially with Jorge Bush.
McCain has to show why he is a different republican, and how he is not at all like George Bush. He has not even attempted to do so. His campaign staff has run the worst campaign I have seen.

It's hard to separate yourself from Bush when you've voted for the bills he has supported 95-100% of the time. It's hard to separate yourself from Bush when you're sharing birthday cake with him while people were dying during Katrina. It's hard to separate yourself from Bush when you state we'll be greeted as liberators in Iraq and it'll be a short incursion on our part. McCain hitched his wagon to Bush for eight years, and they are inseparable.

Despite the fact that they have done such a horrendous job, the average voter has not the slightest idea who San Fran Nan or Hopeless Harry are, much less how poorly they have done.
The average voter just Jaywalks to the polls and votes however the media is telling them at the moment. The Obamamedia says vote for socialism, and that is what the Jaywalkers will do.

some believe that the lobbyists and handlers for mccain really dont want him to win. I was actually proud of him when the woman started to say that obama wasnt an american but an arab. he took the mic from her and said" listen the guy isnt a terrorist and we are gonna go there. Lets at least be civil. dont drive the loonies over the edge by spewing a bunch of hate. The point is mccain doesnt have to do this to win. there are a hundred other legitimate points to bring up that the voters will listen to. 1. oil, energy 2. economy 3. immigration 4. prosecuting wall street 5. disclosing the officials that are loading up with pork

but he is not doing any of those. He is trying to run on the personal associations of Senator Obama. I don't get it. Anyone with a double digit IQ knows by now that Obama is an America hating Marxist. So why keep beating that drum. People either accept that or they do not.
Why not show the folly of his tax plan. Highlight the stupidity in these economic times of his spending plans. Why not show the degree to which his record and what he claims he will do are so far apart.
McCain's campaign is worse than Bob Dull's, and I did not think that achievable.

I think Obama will lose. Then you'll see absolute mismanagement of the presidency. A confused and irritable old man running the show and a petty fundamentalist at his side. If McCain is elected, I will pray to any deity to keep him alive through his term. If you didn't like the Bush years, you'll hate the McSame years. Tallgrass....I have no interest in starting an argument with you here....but your comment that Obama will lose intrigues me. Why do you think he will lose? I don't want Obama to win. But I really cannot see how he is going to lose this. Just curious as to your reasoning.

Because he's a Muslim, hates America, was educated in a madrassa, will issue prayer rugs to everyone if elected, is the Antichrist, is fulfilling biblical prophecy about the end of the world, wants to raise taxes, wants the government doling out healthcare, dissed the troops in Iraq and Germany, consorts with terrorists, doesn't wear a flag pin, wants to invade Pakistan, thought invading Iraq was wrong, and did not support the splurge.
Oh, and he's black.

Looks as though if the professor's theory holds true, he would get the clintoon II presidency he so dearly wants. It would not matter whether it was McCain or Palin at the helm, the democrat congress that will be in office will not act to make matters better. Only a return to our fundamentals will do that, and democrats view that as regression.
They would thwart any attempted leadership out of the morass, thereby assuring a hillary win. Even dems know what Obama is, and no way in he77 would they give him a second chance if he loses. It would be President Hillary starring in "the Witch is Back".

Well.....even if those reasons were true (which many are not), the polls would seem to indicate differently. I'm not even going to address all those reasons, because I just don't want to argue with you. So again.....the polls indicate Obama ahead by a very comfortable lead. McCain is dropping...even in states that had been considered that he would probably carry. I'm just trying to figure out why you think Obama will lose. Doesn't make sense to me. I'm trying to be completely objective here.

Because enough Americans believe any or all of those statements about Obama, and that will be enough for them to vote for McCain. Witness the comments on the OT. ok. I guess I just don't see it. I'll list your reasons here and highlight the ones that I agree with. Because he's a Muslim I've said on many occasions that I don't believe that he is.hates America, I believe he hates the values that have made this country great. So in a way...that is hating America. was educated in a madrassa, There is no evidence to support that.will issue prayer rugs to everyone if elected, How silly.is the Antichrist, I don't think he is. He's not smart enough to be the Antichrist....and too many people distrust and dislike him. The Antichrist will be far more popular. Although....anything is possible I guess. I wouldn't rule him out...but I just don't think he is base on what I see so far.is fulfilling biblical prophecy about the end of the world, See above answer.wants to raise taxes, He's said that himself. He claims he wants to give the middle-class a tax-cut. But so did Clinton. On general principle, Democrats never met a tax they didn't like.wants the government doling out healthcare, He said he thought healthcare was a right during the last debate. Which means evidently that the government must do something to insure that right.dissed the troops in Iraq and Germany, I guess it was clear that he had other priorities.consorts with terrorists, William Ayers is a self-admitted, unrepentant terrorist. Obama tries to downplay his involvement with him. I am unconvinced.doesn't wear a flag pin, I really don't care. I don't wear one either. I'm not against it. I just don't see it as being that important. His seal on the side of his plane and the absence of an American flag is quite telling though.wants to invade Pakistan, Again....he has expressed that he would have done so. thought invading Iraq was wrong, Good people can disagree about the wisdom of invading Iraq. I doubt seriously that will lose him the election. and did not support the splurge. Just an indication that he is unwilling to concede when he is in error and that he understands nothing of military strategy.
Oh, and he's black. And of course, the implication there is that if you do not agree with his principles and values, you are a racist. This of course, is the standard line taken by those on the left when they have no other argument. I've stated many times that I would jump at the opportunity to vote for Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams. Not because they are black. But because they share my values. A person's race is something that I do not consider AT ALL.....nor their gender. Of course the left can't come to grips with that. I am not saying that there are not people who will not vote for Obama because he is black. But I would lay you odds that he has picked up far more votes because he IS black......including many white voters.....who will vote for him just so they can prove to themselves and others that they aren't racists. It's silly really. We should be beyond this. But it is the left that continues to make 'race' an issue.
