Leonard;
If the currant is running 3 to 5 mph and we have seen this, we have made a 68 mile from Clark to pool 3 in the spring to fish, RR marina is about 10 mile north of Clark. But you do have the drag going up river, in the past when we have made this run over 70 mile one way we have keep our eye on the RPM going down river and keep them on about 5000 and ran about 67 -68 mph and save on gas. On the way back we had the hammer down and was only running 67 - 68 mph. We have a 54 gal gas tank and on avg we got about 6 mpg and that = about 300 mile. From RR marina mile mk. 214 and Salina Bayou oxbow mile mk. 141 that = 73 mile one way.
Pool 4 NO GAS, Pool 3 gas in Salina Bayou Oxbow at mile mk. 141, New Marina with Public gas. I will try to get the name of marina and double check on the gas.
Note; when we made the run back up river we move over to one side to stay out of the strong currant and that seam to help some our speed went up. You just have to watch your RPM to your speed. The last two time the BFL La/TX. Division have been over there we have had high water and 3 to 5 mph currant in the river.
