I was sitting at the computer this morning and all of a sudden my two dogs in the back yard starting making the most awful yelping you ever heard. Sounded like they were being killed. I jumped up and ran out the back door and it appeared my brown dog had the white dog by the neck. I walked over and realized it was only the white dog that was making the noise because the brown dog could not make a sound. He was strangling. They routinely play fight with each other and the stupid white dog which is younger had worked his bottom jaw under the collar of the other and somehow twisted it into a figure 8 so it was locked in tight. The brown dog had his mouth wide open and I could hear him gasping, trying to suck in air. I tried to no avail to pull the collar up over the lower teeth of the one with his jaw locked in there. I knew it had to be cut, but I couldn't get a knife between the collar and the dogs neck, that's how tight it was. I needed something with a lower profile and I needed it fast, the dog could not breath and was strangling before my very eyes. I jumped up and ran into the house to my embroidery machine and grabbed my embroidery scissors that are razor sharp. I ran back out, and pulled the dogs up to me. I had to pull the collar even tighter than it already was, completely blocking off the little guys air. What made it worse was I had to fight with the white one which kept putting his paw up there trying to push the collar away from his jaw while jerking back on it wit his head, which further tightened the collar. I had to work fast. I worked the scissors under the collar sideways and once through, I turned them as much as I could and started clamping the scissors. I could see fear in the poor little guy's eyes because he was not breathing at all at this point. Two pulls and the razor edge sliced through as the collar snapped off like it was under a two ton load. I immediately grabbed him up and started massaging his throat and neck as the other one ran away with the collar still stuck in his teeth. The little guy was shaking and scared. He came very close to strangling to death. I got up to check on the other dummy dog and I saw the collar laying on the patio. He came scampering out and was fine. They were both still shook up. I have no doubt if I had not been here, I would have come home to find one dog dead and the other with his jaw still locked up in the collar. Skipper Casper

Glad it all worked out. Those are two cute dogs.
Do you keep these dogs outside all of the time?

Do you keep these dogs outside all of the time? Funny question considering both pictures show the dogs on tile floors! elementary, my dear watson!

Why is the white dog the dummy?!?!?! I don't do collars for arious reasons that being one. Another is they can get it hung on a number of things and twist to get it off and strangle themselves. Glad everything worked out! maybe microchip them and only collar when your walking them. i also think they make collars that will release, before they strangle the dog. Those are very cute dogs you got. Is the white a boxer?

glad it all worked out. I've come home and found where one dog had got his "thumb" paw caught in the loop on his collar. He was limping about and whining, but nothing that serious.
The worst thing we encountered was when Buddy our 125lb pit lab mix decided to tear a 4x4 hole in the sheetrock. He scratched so hard through the wall that it pulled out two of his claws. The house looked like a crime scene with sheetrock and blood everywhere.

Cute dogs! I like the white one the best. The white one look like a pit bull, this is probably why he locked his jaws.

"I was sitting at the computer this morning and all of a sudden my two dogs in the back yard starting making the most awful yelping you ever heard." Yes, I did. And I still think your question is funny, seeing as how you asked "Do you keep these dogs outside all of the time?" From the photos taken, obviously the answer is NO
