Anyone had this done?

I have been doing some research on it and am thinking about having this done.

If you have had this done,

Did your vision get better?

or

Have you had to go back to wearing contacts or glasses?

How did the surgery go, painful or pretty easy to get through?

Had it done about 4 years ago after wearing thick glasses and contact lenses since the third grade (in my 50's now). Best think I ever did. Due to my age though I still need reading glasses for small print, menus in dark restraunts, tieing knots on fishing line etc. Didn't hurt, no problems, didn't miss any work. Had it done late on a Friday afternoon and went to work on Monday. Piece of cake.

I had it 3 years ago at 28 years of age. It is one of the few good decisions I have made. My contacts were really bothering me. Vision is now better than 20/20. Eyesight was TERRIBLE before surgery.

I've wanted to have this done for years but I've heard a couple stories of blurred night vision. Still seems worth the risk because most problems are about 1% and minor.

Brother had it done and the best decision he ever made he says.

Only complaint he had was the eye dryness for a few days after it was done.

Wife had it done and actually had an issue where the flap came undone and curled up. eek They quickly handled it and everything was fine. She still has trouble with her night vision, which she had before hnd. She has drops for it that help her.

I've had glasses for 25 years and they don't bother me(contacts never worked). Not sure I could handle folks getting all up in my eye so I've stayed the course.

Best money I ever spent. No pain, just a little discomfort for a day. Never had the need for glasses or contacts after 7 years.

7 years ago, Dr. Brian Ranelle in Hurst. It's the best thing I ever did. I'm still a little better than 20/20. Very slight discomfort for one day and then no sensation at all.
After 40 years of glasses/contacts/prescription sunglasses - it's really nice to buy cheap sunglasses and have a pair everywhere - instead of expensive and heavy prescription types.

I had it done about 5 or 6 years ago. Free as a result of a drawing at the Bass Champs tournament on Texoma.

I had to have it redone within a year as my eyesight wan't 20/20. Now I am close but I still wear contacts when I need to see perfect.
The prescription is .25 or the lowest level of correction so my sight is good enough that I rarely wear contacts.
I can easily pass the drivers license test without help whereas before the procedure I had a problem seeing the line you stand behind on the floor.

If they offer you to do the procedure that lets you see both close up as well as far, don't take it. They make one eye see close up and one eye see far.
I had them give me vision to see far away. At 55 I use reading glasses but I'd rather do that than have less than the best vision all around.

OK..

Whatever you you do..DONT USE Dr. Boothe.

I had him do my laser surgery in 99. And today I am wearing contacts. Pre lasik 20/400 vision. Today 20/60 & 20/60. I could get them touched up, but then I would have to get readers in about 10 years...if I dont get it redone I can go 20 year before I need readers. My wife loves heres (evangilista kliman) <sp. And they did her right, and very professional. Boothe is a like herding cattle. So I wold so go for it...judst DONT USE DR. BOOTHE. PM me if you want further horror stories from my visit w/ Dr Boothe

Wife had hers done in 01 and I had mine done in 02. Some of the best money we have ever spent. We had ours done at The Laser Center (TLC) and were very pleased with the procedure.

After it is done you feel like someone threw sand in your eyes and it is hard to keep them open. Go home as directed and sleep for 3-4 hours and that sensation goes away. The worst part of it is you have to put drops in them all the time for about 2 weeks and you have to wear guards on them at nite when you sleep so you don't rub them.

You will get halo's at nite for a while but my nite vision is as good as it was before the surgery now and my wife's sux just as bad now as they did before too. If I remember right it was about 2-3 months before the halo's completely went away.

I say DO IT!

Thanks for the advice guys...

I am still doing some research and looking into, I am getting tired of paying 500 bucks for prescription sunglasses.
