Hey guys-

I am currently in the 8th grade at Ridgview Middle School in Round Rock, TX. One of my classes decided that we wanted to do something to help out the victims of hurricane Ike so we called the Red Cross and the Round Rock Serving Center. The both of them said that what they really wanted was money donations and gas cards. After talking about what we would do for a few days I had the idea of making a fishing tournament to raise money. Everyone in the class looked at me like I was crazy, but I showed them my website and described to them what a fishing tournament was, and they thouhgt it was a really cool idea.

So, I have talked to a couple people on here that have given some very god advice as to how they might sugget this tournament be run. Here are the details:

-The tournament will be held on October 26, 2008 at Lake Georgetown, Jim Hogg State Park Boat Ramp. Because this is on a Sunday, we had some people say that they would have to go to church instead of going to the tournament in the morning, so the tournament starts at 1:00 pm and ends at 6:00 pm. We understand that this is not the most preferrable fishing time, but we also know that catching fish is a bonus in this tournament as the first priority is raising money.

-The tournament will have no entry fee and no prizes except for those donated. Although we are excepting donations of $5 and more at the tournament for anyone who shows up. Remember this money goes sraight to the victims of hurricane Ike.

-We will have an exact number of children attending soon, but as of now it does not look like we ca have too many boaters. Many of these children have either never fished before or have only been once or twice. They have very little if any fishing equipment if any at all. A spinning rod and a shakey head or dropshot will do most of these kids good thumb

-One thing we would like to have for sure is someone with a scale of some sorts. Whether it is an x-tools or cul-m-rite that we can hang a caryy bag from or official tournament scales we just need something to tell what the weight of everyones fish is.

I am sure that some people will have questions so feel free to email me at alecfishmeister@gmail.com or send me a PM. If you are interested in being a boater you can contact me the same way and I will get back to you with exact details. Thanks for all the support guys-
