Hey I made a few "corn flies" for the fish that have enjoyed people throwing corn out. I am still trying to catch that illusive carp ya know....hehehe.

okay, okay, enough is enough... i don't get "corn fly" unless its a joke. when in nature is a carp going to secure enough "corn" that a corn fly looks to be a viable meal, now if you're baiting a hole with corn (common practice) i can see where a carp might slurp down anything yellow on the bottom mixed in with a pile of corn, but otherwise they aren't going to go out of the way [carp: "hey look its corn, lets feed"] i think a person would be much better off with a brownish buggy type carp fly than to present a fish a vegetable, that said i will admit that the only carp i have caught were caught on corn, trout also eat corn readily, i think the combination of non-threating smell & looks like a shiny yellow fish egg are probably why.

I think you have the complete picture. If you throw corn out as an attractant, having a corn fly can really be beneficial. For one thing, the corn doesn't come off the hook with a corn fly like a real piece of corn. You don't have to rebait your hook, it's already there. Plus it is small, and bream would hit it just because it is interesting, and small enough to try out. Hey, I had bream hitting my little tiny strike indicator before, they will try just about anything.

I heard trout like marshmallows, and I used some for bait last year. No trout touched it, but I caught a catfish on it, no kidding.

ya know, lately i been thinkin on ketchin sum a dem trouts & i heard they eat the same junk as carp, so i tied up some colored corn flies cause i think the trout will like the pretty colors.

Your good look just like a Glo bug they do.

Do a couple in chartreuse and a couple in orange and you will catch dem' trouts
