Does anyone have any pointers for fishing Crappie on Grapevine?

Injury's fine. All healed up. Now, the wife and I have a newborn and I just started a new job. Oi !! I'm thinking about hiring a guide just so I can go out and wet a line. Anybody have any good recommendations?
