i was scanning the web looking for a place to list this, and found your site. hope you dont mind. my name is John,i am a licensed fishing guide and hunting outfitter, and a licensed gunsmith.

i have a brand new in the box humminbird 797c2 SI side imaging sonar with navionics for sale. the unit is brand new and unused, in the box. problem is it doesnt include the side imaging transducer. i bought a brand new 797 awhile back for my pontoon boat ( a 16ft crestliner with 4 stroke 30hp honda). and ended up with two brand new in the box 797s ( long story)

anyway, i ended up buying a splitter and using the other transducer on my pontoon boat as my motor was blocking the side imaging on one side, leaving me a brand new 797 with everything, in the box less the transducer..the unit comes with external GPS,mount,head unit with navionics preloaded,FULL WARRANTY,etc,etc...everything that comes from the factory in the box, except the side imaging transducer

i will however include a brand new unused dual beam transducer ( i bought it to put on my trolling motor, but the trolling motor is a wireless, and it wouldnt work out like i was thinkin) so the unit can be used right away until you get one of the SI transducers. i was going to keep this and mount it in the front of my boat, but besides the 797 i already have in there, ive got a lowrance X85 in the front, and an eagle cuda 168 in the back, next to my cannon electric downriggers, and a eagle cuda 128 portable under the seat, as a backup, so instead of this just sitting here, i figured someone can use it.

im asking $750 OBO for the 797, or would consider a trade/part trade for a thompson center contender for my son in 223. i would prefer to find him a rifle or carbine, but a frame, or the single shot pistol version would be good on a part trade maybe as i can buy him the rest of the stuff online ( i am a licensed FFL so transfer isnt a problem).

Where are you located & what is the cost of the transom transducer?

i am located in the redding ,california area. i will ship the sonar for free to whomever buys it. id take either a certified check or USPS money order as payment.

the head unit by itself has a MSRP if $859, and that doesnt come with anything but just the head unit. no bracket, no GPS,etc....this comes with everything as factory packed with the GPS receiver, all cables,mounts, books,etc

also, id probably take $700 for the unit shipped

i hate to post on this one more time, but something else i though id bring up.

i had a guy email me a link to one of these for a little under 800 bucks. DONT BE FOOLED. that is the CHO unit, and doesnt include anything at all except for the head unit itself. no mounts or wiring, no external GPS unit,etc.to get that stuff you have to buy it SEPERATELY. alot of people are and get confused, as they offer several different versions and configurations of the 797 ( just look at there webpage) and alot of people think they can get by with buying the el-cheapo head unit, and after they get it they find out they have to buy alot more stuff.those CHO units are for guys who have either had there unit stolen, or want another unit to network via interlink with the unit they already have.plus they DO NOT INCLUDE THE NAVIONICS BUNDLE , which has navionics gold and hotmaps charts already loaded and built into the unit, which is on top of the maps humminbird puts in already.ive found them to be indispensable when i fist started looking for a 797, i called humminbird personally and spoke to them extensively about the subject as i wanted to get the most for my money. they were very helpful and explained the whole thing to me.

they also explained to me that these units will most likely never be out of date. everything is controlled by the software thats loaded on the unit. when you register your warranty with humminbird ( which is simple, you go to there site, register your product,no receipt required) youll automatically be able to download all of the latest software for it, including humminbirdpc which allows you to connect your unit to the computer via a cable, and also all of the unpdated software. you download it, put it on the SD card im including,stick it in the unit and turn it on, right in the boat. the sonar will update automatically,nothing more to do.

i dont know if you realize what a great deal this is, but for 700 bucks, you get the whole package,less the SI transducer, BUT you get a brand new dual beam plus transducer ( which, once you get an SI transducer, you can always get a switch and put it on your trolling motor, and switch between the transom mount and the trolling motor. alot of guys do that)also in the deal.


the NVB is the BEST 797 setup you can get

your getting a $1199 unit for $827. that cheaper than buying just the CHO head unit!
