My buddy, Tommy(in the camo hat) and I went out on our wagons today. Fished the little lake south of Albany (McCarty) and had a good day. Fish were on brush and timber in 12'-14'. We used only solid gray 1/8th ounce handtied today. The fish are gourging on shad and the gray worked really well. I had a little piece of Yum on my jigs.

Matthew,

Both of them have Honda 2hps. Push us at a little over 4mph. That's about as fast as I want to go, esp in rough water! laugh

I haven't seen a water wagon in years, my unlce used to
have one. I tried it once, I would rather fish out of
a tube on a small lake. The wagon is nice if the lake is
larger. I have not been in a tube in 15 years.

It's great everytime I see the Water Wagon and your stringer, TONY

I didn't realize that you have to register that HUGE VESSEL just like a regular boat...wow...the GOV will get a piece of the pie at any cost, huh (especially when the cost is on us...)

CV,Tony helped me find one last year and Its a blast to fish from.It doesnt have to be registered until you put a motor on it,even with a trolling motor registration is required.

One day soon enough, I gonna have to beg Tony to fix me up w/ one as well...been looking at them and would love to own one for the winter creek fishing.

Wonder what my 75lb thrust trolling motor would do on that thing. How much is the ball park cost of a 2hp Honda...does anyone know?

CV,

When I used a trolling motor, it was 51lb. Problem with the trolling motor is that you're limited to your battery charge.

I bought my Honda new 2 1/2 years ago for $1100. Wouldn't take for it. The motor only holds a quart of gasoline and you can run several miles on it. With a one gallon gas can on board, you can fish all day and never worry. I seldom add gas during the day. The Honda only weighs in at 28 lbs, so it's actually lighter than the 51lb trolling motor I had.

I would of thought a 2hp would push them faster then 4 mph, actually I thought a 30 or 36 lb thrust might get close to that. Maybe I should rethink my plans for mine.

trapper,

According to my handheld gps, the 51lb trolling motor pushed it at a little over 2mph and the 2hp a little over 4. With your legs out in front of you, using the flippers for a rudder, that's fast enough for me.

7lb,

You just have to find someone who has one lying around. They quit making these several years ago. Mr Sir, here on TFF, sells a styrofoam kick boat, but I'm not sure it will handle a motor. You might check with him. I've seen homemade from styrofoam that have been beefed up by coating it with fiberglass and then adding a transom for a motor.

I think this might be a way to go to have a set up similar to yours. Does anyone know anything about this?

I am the guy that has The Frog Boats and appreciate you for checking them out. We have logged numerous hours in the boats and they are a BLAST. I know the price is a bit of a shock but they are each hand assembled by the owner/inventor. The materials are all top quality. He has build these to last DECADES. Blessing's to you and let us know if we can show you the boats sometime. smile
