Thinking about making a n early morning run Saturday before all of the games start - which lake around Ft Worth would be best right now for whites, hybrids, LB, or even crappie?
I live right by Benbrook but I know it is really low - Anybody been out there recently, what is biting?

I was at Benbrook yesterday to run the boat. I fished for about 10 minutes before sunset and had some good hits on live bait. But, the sun sat and it was over. I launched a mustang no problem. I would not rule BB out. And, you might have the lake to your self.

i went to benbrook to test drive my boat today (will be ready next week). i talked to an older gentleman who said the bass aren't biting. he said he trolled the other day somewhere along the lake. nothing.
lake is very low. mustang still a good place to launch, though. only cost me $3 thru the gate--compared to $5 at rocky creek park which is only open on fri, sat, and sun i hear. i'll be going out to Benbrook next week, probably. i really wanna try worming that forest of stumps on the south end of the lake just off mustang park, there might be something in there. plus, any of the exposed stumps on the lake, on the east side or southwest side. but i'm not too sure about the season and fishing patterns in those areas. if anybody tries, let me know.

Since your talking about a early morning run, I say go to Grapevine. Get to the Kattie Woods ramp early because I'm sure it's packed on the weekends. Lake is low and Kattie Woods is one of the last few ramps that the dock is still a float.
Get on early, catch you sanbass until you had enough, then get off early. They're easy to catch at the bubbles right now. You can slab up better fish at the usual spots elsewhere.

Jake it was better and did not stink but I still think it is turning over. It was a better day but it was not that great we had to work for them. Competion is of no concern come on out. Johnny
