Anyone been to Port A in the last couple of days. Going down there tomorrow to get a little pier fishing/jetty/kayaking. Any ideas on what's biting and what on ? Any reports are appreciated.

I was told yesterday the Reds are in the channel at the jetties. Also last week the flounder were supposedly good on the surf side off the jetties. I am thinking of going down to PINS today. Never been there.

Take some spare tires, there is still a lot of trash going south. Word is that the wrecker drivers were busy down there this past weekend during the tournament. As of this morning, the wind has died down and the water is inviting. We are in Port A for the month, but I am having problems with the lap top or I would post some pics, hope to have it worked out soon. Should be able to find some sharks and reds, no problem. Should have kayak fishing report by Thursday night.

Was down at Port Aransas, 2 weeks ago...
Seen several Bulls and several slot limits caught in the channel side of the PortA South Jetty...Need to hit it early though, or on incoming tide...
Unfortunately, I got there late on the outgoing tide...
Hooked a nice Bull in the afternoon, but last it in the rocks...Tide was ripping out hard at that point...Took a 8oz. surf sinker to hold...Also lost a 4oz. earlier on a run, cheap $2.99 red-fish leader broke...There a big set of rocks on the channel side, just down from where there is a bouy in channel...These rocks hang out real close to the edge of the water, and that's where I saw most of the slot reds caught...I'm guessing 300 yards from shore or where you can park closest to the beach side...Cut mullet, was the ticket...

Did at least managed a limit of trout at GISP in Rockport, later that night...Was using small white Croaker free-lined...Actually caught them in my cast-net...Mullet, and piggies where hard 2 come buy that night...Nothing over 17", but at least over 15"...And plenty of schoolies on swim baits or curly-tail grubs...Clear -silver specked+ pearl seemed to be the best...Also, 3" Gulp new penny or white free-lined or with 1/8th oz. jig head...But tide was high then, to use heavier jig head...
Was going to go back to PASJ, in the morning for incoming tide..But decided to head back home...

Also, might check http://www.corpusfishing.com or http://nickawaymedia.com/ for reports also...Especially, the Packery Channel...Heard some good reports earlier in the week of reds, smacks, and a lot of Mangrove Snapper....But IMO, that place can be a hit or miss from 1 day to the other...Plus, can get crowded on end real fast...So need to get there early for reds, IMO..

!!Good Luck!!

Surf was too nice to hit the bay,(specially when you sit up in bed and look out your window to see the surf, don't know how I am going to leave come the 1st.)We caught some dinner trout. Water is still clear and there is a lot of bait, mullet, whiting, skipjack (good size for shark bait). Had a run and then a brake off last night that was at least a five footer. Torn between the bay and the surf, the weather will dictate the choice we make as the wind seems to be picking up this evening. (Still trying to get pics to load onto this lap top, may have to go into town to get them posted.)A friend of ours caught a very large Red close to the jetties, seems there is a bit action everywhere.
Got a few pics up.
